My Sunday Reset Routine

Sundays have slowly become my favorite day of the week — not because they’re exciting, but because they’re mine. It’s my day to slow down, clean up, and prepare for the new week. There’s something so therapeutic about folding laundry, lighting a candle, and starting fresh.

It’s not about perfection — it’s about peace. My Sunday reset is my soft way of saying, I’m ready to begin again.

Step 1: Set the Mood

Before I touch a single thing, I make it cozy.
I light my Pistachio Macaron by La Jolie Muse candle — the scent alone makes cleaning feel luxurious — and play my “slow and productive” playlist. Think soulful R&B, acoustic songs, and the occasional lo-fi beat.

Then I open the windows to let some fresh air in. I like the mix of candlelight and daylight — warm and grounding.

Step 2: Laundry Therapy

Laundry is one of my favorite parts of my Sunday reset. There’s something peaceful about sorting through clothes, starting the machine, and hearing that first whirl.

My go-to products:

  • Gain Strawberry & Shea Laundry Beads – fresh, soft, and sweet without being too strong.

  • Downy Pistachio Cream Scent Booster – smells like comfort and calm in a bottle.

  • Gain Moonlight Breeze Laundry Detergent – gentle but effective, with a clean, cozy scent.

While the first load washes, I’ll usually make a cup of coffee or tea and tidy up my space. It’s like background music — the sound of productivity without the pressure.

Step 3: Clean the Space, Clear the Mind

Next comes cleaning. Not deep cleaning — just resetting.
I start small: making the bed, putting things back where they belong, wiping down surfaces. I’ve learned that a clean space changes how I feel, and how I show up for the week ahead.

My favorites:

  • Mrs. Meyer’s Multi-Surface Cleaner (Lavender or Honeysuckle) – fresh, botanical, and satisfying.

  • Everspring Glass Cleaner – clean scent, clean conscience (eco-friendly).

  • A microfiber cloth – because little details matter.

As I clean, I think about what I want the week to feel like — not just what I want to get done. I imagine peace, progress, and small joy.

Step 4: Reset the Details

After everything’s clean, I do the small things that make my space mine:

  • Fluff my pillows.

  • Spray Febreze Vanilla Suede Mist around the room.

  • Put on fresh sheets (nothing beats that first night in them).

  • Refill my diffuser with lavender or peppermint-scented oil.

By this point, the house feels lighter — calmer. Like it’s breathing with me again.

Step 5: Finish with Something Soft

Once laundry’s folded and the space is tidy, I take a moment to care for myself too. Maybe it’s a shower, a face mask, or a quick stretch. Sometimes I’ll sit on my bed with my candle still flickering, journal a bit, or plan the week ahead with a cup of tea.

It’s not about productivity — it’s about presence.

Final Thoughts

My Sunday reset isn’t about starting over; it’s about coming back to myself. It’s about creating an environment where I can breathe — where peace doesn’t have to be earned, just maintained.

So I light my candle, play my playlist, and start the laundry again.
Because every week deserves a soft beginning.
